Women as Executives and Leaders
“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.”
-Ayn Rand
Significant strides have been made in the past 20 years in the advancement of women as leaders in the business world. In 2020, the number of women in senior management has increased to 29%, and 23% as executives.
Yet, we sadly still lag. Less than 10% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women, and 1 in 7 executives is female. These prejudices and injustices prevail and while there may be momentum for change, it is more of a swell than a tsunami.
Placing an emphasis on developing women leaders and helping them to establish a ‘New Leaders Club’ instead of the proverbial ‘Old Boys Club’, but even more so instill their deserved and rightful place within teams, organizations, and communities.
Working with unthinkable let’s begin to change the narrative of women as executives and leaders. Discovering and establishing authenticity and uniqueness to inspire women to develop and establish a new generation of inclusive, diverse, and equitable leaders.
Executive Team & Team Coaching
“A single leaf working alone provides no shade.” – Chuck Page
For organizations to attain success, the strength is not in individuals but in the performance as teams, teams acting as communities, putting aside differences, and individually and collectively obsessed with what’s good for the organization.
Attaining excellence as a team is the only way to attain success as an organization. And each team comprises a group of individuals with specific strengths and dynamics that need to be overcome to realize the collective potential. To cultivate success, you need community. But individual and intra-team tension make it difficult to create community. The primary goal in team coaching is to balance the natural tension that exists within teams and between individuals, and to bring them together to smooth out the tension, continuously nurture the community, and ensure it is aligned around a common vision and set of goals. This is the role of team coaching.
Executive teams who have used our stakeholder-centered coaching report returns on investment in the millions.
aAll high-performing teams have coaches, some will have many. We all admire great teams and their accomplishments, and what the majority have in common, are coaches who help bring out the strengths of individuals to create a strong cohesive team. As coaches, we can bridge communication gaps and bring clarity to concepts.
Coaching can be used for executive teams critical project teams and for the Board. Most effective is when the coach works with the entire team, and that is where we see the best results for the organization. The way we work with teams is dependent on the team, the goals, and the challenges you face, and can include working with individuals, the team as a group, and a combination of the two.
Will your team benefit from coaching?
Consider these questions:
- On a scale of 1 – 10, how well is your team (executive or project) presently pulling together in the same direction?
- On a scale of 1 – 10, how open, transparent and vulnerable are your team conversations?
- On a scale of 1 – 10, how well does your team hold themselves and each other accountable for the organization’s short and long-term goals?
- What are the financial and other long-term organization implications if the team doesn’t close the gap?
If the gap is significant enough, team coaching will benefit you.
